Can there be a more beautiful invitation [click on it for detail] than to hang around a cool Culver City designer home, with smart music lovers, just breathing in the exceptionally artistic vibe of our great Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor laureate, the composer Esa-Pekka Salonen?
The event will benefit the Hear Now Music Festival, a klatch of contemporary music purveyors and their fans led by a longtime Angeleno Hugh Levick. Tickets remain, so come on down.
The December 5 event will feature the performance of the The Lyris Quartet and an interview with Salonen who beyond being just brilliant can also be a funny guy.
Proffering their modern home, equipped with two adorable children, for this occasion are generous hosts Thomas Aujero Small & Joanna Brody, friends of arts·meme.
Says Thomas, “It’s extraordinary to have this level of musical wattage in as small and intimate a space. To be with Esa, hear his music, and then get to talk with him across the room is what’s exciting about this event.”
