A very rich week in dance is upon us. Two strong young choreographic voices are contending across town, both are must viewing, indeed game changers, for the art form.
Wednesday and Thursday nights, the Israeli-born, London-based, pants-on-fire Hofesh Shechter brings “Political Mother” to Royce Hall (huge thumbs up on that title, Hofesh).
And the equally well-titled “The Radio Show” by Abraham.In.Motion, straight outta Brooklyn, spreads Kyle Abraham’s luscious moves over a four-night stretch at REDCAT downtown.
Read my piece about Kyle in this Sunday’s Los Angeles Times “Arts & Books” section.
Both recommended…

Larry, you know I hate to disagree with you. I am just home from seeing “Political Mother.” Hofesh Shechter’s pants are on fire. Get thee to Royce Hall Thursday night.
Hofesh pants-on-fire? Naw, it’s the lucky pants filling the seats that get the fire. I am fascinated by him as now that he is also scoring his work, he is more of a force to be reckoned with. Sorry I am missing this but getting lots of YouTube tastes.
