We love ‘Forever Flamenco’ — whether in its grandstand production at the (now under renovation) John Anson Ford Theatre, or in its cozy Hollywood home, the 80-seat summer sweat-box of sensual Spanish stagecraft, aka the Fountain Theatre.
This weekend, ‘Forever,’ produced by Deborah Lawlor and James Bennett, presents Isaac De Los Reyes — a special guest dancer importing his own brand of personal fury from Spain. This headline man bolsters a roster of regulars in the steamy July edition of the Fountain’s long-standing, valiant dance series.
On the Fountain’s well-trod floorboards, the furious Isaac — undoubtedly a perfectly nice person temporarily transformed into a ballistic gypsy-roué — will be joined by dancers Vanessa Albalos and Mizuho Sato; singer Jesus Montoya; and guitarist José Tanaka, all under the artistic direction of master percussionist Gerardo Morales.
We’re going.
