Thirty years since he left us, we are still in his thrall. Here’s a wonderful historic photo of the great Russian-born choreographer-genius George Balanchine, provided to us by the chief archivist of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Norton Owen. In this beautifully composed photograph, Balanchine instructs Mary Ellen Moylan.

My father knew Maryellen Moyland in high school. He is 88 and happily married.

Hs name is Jim Ware from St. Petersburg, Florida. He said that she would ride the trolly to downtown.

And, she once ivited him to a dance concert in NYC. Fond memories.

He would love to say hello, but has not been able to contact.
Any help would be very appreciated…

Thank you … my dad’s email is ellieandjim@cox.net
