As a schoolboy aged 14, Nick Broomfield, later a British filmmaker and award-winning documentarian, met Brian Jones, by chance, on a train. Jones was at the height of his success. Six years later he would be dead. Nick Broomfield’s new documentary THE STONES & BRIAN JONES explores the legacy of Brian Jones, who, in this new film posites Broomfield posits, was the founder and creative genius of The Rolling Stones.

THE STONES & BRIAN JONES looks at the relationships and rivalries within the Stones in their formative years. It explores the iconoclastic freedom and exuberance of the 60s, a time of inter generational conflict and sexual turmoil. Featuring revealing interviews with all the main players and unseen archival footage, THE STONES & BRIAN JONES uncovers how and why the founder of what became the greatest rock & roll band in the world was left behind in the shadows of history.

Bill Wyman was historic consultant to this movie.

Broomfield’s previous work includes Tales of the Grim Sleeper, Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer, Marianne & Leonard, Whitney “Can I Be Me” (2017), The Leader, His Driver and the Driver’s Wife.
