Named in honor of artist, actor, director and philanthropist Leonard Nimoy, The Nimoy is a reimagining of Westwood’s historic Crest Theatre, acquired by UCLA in 2018 and since renovated into a flexible 300-seat off-campus performing arts space.
The show artsmeme will attend features performances by Grammy Award-winning poet, spoken word artist and songwriter J. Ivy joined by singer Tarrey Torae and guest musicians as part of the first installment of Poetry Uncut, a four-part series of curated poetry evenings and music hosted by Ivy throughout the 2023-2024 season. Opening night remarks will be given by actor Zachary Quinto (right, above) who played the character Spock in the J.J. Abrams-directed film Star Trek (2009), a role originated and made legendary by Leonard Nimoy (at left).
