One of the greats, Marc Platt, a veteran of the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo (as Marc Platoff), Agnes de Mille’s original Broadway cast of “Oklahoma,” “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” and “Tonight and Every Night,” just turned 100. And his friends are throwing a party him in northern California this weekend. Dance lovers invited!
Happy birthday, Marc Platt, such a beautiful, glorious dancer. Sending love and appreciation for ebullient performances from Ballets Russes to Broadway and on the silver screen.
Most recently, Platt is featured generously in the great 2005 dance documentary, “Ballets Russes.”

Amazing! Wow! What a sensational performer. I wish I could go to the party. Congratulations Mark Platt. Would love to meet you.
I join Arts Meme’s readers in sending Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday to Marc Platt… an outstanding Dancer and Radio City Music Hall choreographer!
Good heavens, is everyone invited? (She asked hopefully)
Thanks for posting this about a seemingly-eternal dance great. I wish I could attend this event but will not be able to. He deserves so much praise and your posts about him will hopefully encourage other dance historians to take a look at his film career.
