During the show, leggy ladies of the line paraded onto a huge circular, revolving stage. This photo shows Earl Carroll and some of his aides and chorus girls examining the moving stage in 1938.
The theater still stands on Sunset Boulevard.
By the way, this photo was taken the exact same time that Balanchine was living in Los Angeles working as a film choreographer.
