I arrived in New York last night to attend the classical music arts journalism institute run by the National Endowment for the Arts at Columbia University.
The ten-day program, which includes classical music performances, talks, discussion, lectures and writing workshops, kicks off this evening with performance of Kronos Quartet.
The program includes works by Clint Mansell, Michael Gordon, Dan Visconti, Sebastian Currier, Aleksandra Vrebalov, and arts·meme favorite, Franz Schubert.
The venue, Le Poisson Rouge, occupies the Bleeker Street building where the historic Village Gate nightclub once stood.
Hi Debra, I handle publicity for Kronos (special projects) and other eclectic, forward-looking artists. Would love to hear from you. Hope you’re having a great time at Columbia! – S
