We need fun! We need fun!
There. I’ve said it twice — because I mean it doubly. Also because it’s in keeping with the time warp of repetition proffered by a very funny movie along that theme.
Groundhog Day (1993) tells the tale of an egotistical Pittsburgh teevee weather guy, Phil Connors (Bill Murray), who enters a time warp while waiting for Punxsatawney Phil to poke his furry little head from the ground to divine the duration of winter weather. Among the reasons Connors hates Groundhog Day is that the grubby little guy shares his name.

At Alamo Drafthouse’s downtown Los Angeles’s movie-theater digs, a special screening of this adorable comedy is on offer, and, class joint that it is, your admission price includes a gourmet meal.
Alert! the menu does not include grilled groundhog. It includes this:
I Got You Pavé: thinly sliced russet potatoes covered in cream and roasted with cheese, fresh herbs, and caramelized onions.
No Tomorrow Lasagna: layers of pasta with garlic-roasted mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, and a rich Parmesan sauce.
Chocolate Never Gets Old: white chocolate custard, sliced strawberries, and shaved dark chocolate between sheets of puff pastry.
Seems like a whimsical and delish thing to do to get mind and tummy off the various cataclysms we’re all struggling to process.
So, Bring it! Can I say that once more? Bring it!
