He was in the process of completing his book on Edith Head at that time. He would visit San Diego every Christmas with his mother and stay with my wife's parents (his relatives) in National City. We would usually go out to a Holiday dinner at the Hotel Del Coronado and I found him to be a very interesting and knowledgeable person, as was his mother. I'm glad he is doing well with his book(s) and still teaching. Since my wife and (I assume)his mother passed away I haven't seen him in many years, so if you run into him again tell him I said hello: better yet, if you have his email, I would like to send him a note.
